IPOH: The clogged drain issue reported two days ago has caught the attention of the Ipoh City Council (MBI).
MBI deployed its staff to clean the accumulated trash and stagnant oil causing foul odours and tarnishing the city’s image. The council hopes that improper disposal of food waste and trash will not recur.
“Awareness and responsibility are crucial, especially for nearby food establishment operators, to manage waste and oil disposal properly.
“Cooperation from all parties is essential to ensure the city’s cleanliness is maintained. Adopt a healthy lifestyle for our collective well-being,” the statement read.
Recently, Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic reported public complaints about clogged drains due to food waste and oil near the back of the shops at No 59, Regat Sri Cempaka, Taman Cempaka.
It is understood that the problem resurfaced despite cleaning efforts by the authorities last January.
