Three Muay Thai athletes from Perak defeated challengers from Thailand

TAIPING: Three local participants successfully defeated their respective opponents from Thailand in the Malaysia International Muay Thai Championship (MIMAC) held at Dataran Warisan Taiping here.
Putera Iskandar Mohd Ezry Azamin, 16, won the Malaysian Minister of Youth and Sports belt, while Haris Haikal and Maisarah won the MIMAC 2024 belts.
Putera Iskandar defeated Phet Manang in the 42-kilogram (kg) category, Haris defeated Pitikorn Phothong in the 49-52kg category, and Maisarah emerged as the champion in the 44-46kg category by defeating Tam Tong.
The Perak state Tomoi Association aims to secure at least six out of the 12 belts contested.
Its president, Mohd Ezry Azamin, stated that Perak needs to win only three more belts to achieve their target.
He added that he is confident the athletes fielded can achieve success in the tournament, which ends this Sunday.
