BAGAN DATUK: The safety and harmony of more than 82,000 residents of Bagan Datuk are assured with the official launch of the Bagan Datuk District Police Headquarters (IPD).
This makes IPD Bagan Datuk the 16th IPD in the state of Perak.
Previously, Bagan Datuk was declared a new district on January 9, 2017, by the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.
Accordingly, it was necessary to establish a new IPD to further streamline policing matters for the district.
IPD Bagan Datuk unofficially began operations on March 16, with the Hutan Melintang Police Station chosen as the temporary operations center.
An allocation of RM2 million for acquiring 10 acres of land for the construction of the new Bagan Datuk IPD Complex has been approved under Rolling Plan 4 of the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK12).
PDRM has submitted a construction cost estimate of RM200 million under Rolling Plan 5 of RMK12.
Earlier, the launch ceremony of IPD Bagan Datuk was officiated by the Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Also present was the Chief Police Officer of Perak, Dato’ Sri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri.
