PARIT: A man with the title of doctor was arrested after he was believed to be involved in the molestation of a 15-year-old girl last Tuesday.
According to the Central Perak District Police Chief, Supt. Hafezul Helmi Hamzah, the victim made a report on Tuesday at the Bota Police Station, Central Perak District Police Headquarters, around 9.14pm.
“The victim said she was sexually harassed by a man believed to be a doctor while seeking treatment at a hospital here.
“Following on from the police report, on Wednesday around 2pm, a team of police officers from IPD Perak Tengah arrested a man with the title of doctor.
“The suspect has been remanded for further investigation and the victim is in a stable condition,” he said in a media statement last night.
Hafezul Helmi said the case was investigated in accordance with Section 14 (a) of the Sexual Offenses Against Children Act 2017.
