SUNGAI SIPUT: A total of 72 Orang Asli farmers have been enrolled in the Self-Employment Social Security Scheme (SKSPS) provided by the Social Security Organization (PERKESO).

This scheme offers cash benefits to self-employed insured individuals and their dependents, as well as medical treatment, physical rehabilitation, and more.

Their contributions, amounting to RM 1,677.60, were funded by Sungai Siput Member of Parliament S. Kesavan.

All self-employed insured individuals were registered under the agriculture and forestry sector as part of the SPS Asal initiative.

Earlier, a working visit by the Perak state PERKESO team, accompanied by the Sungai Siput MP, took place at Pos Poi and Pos Piah.

The visit commenced in the morning at the Kampung Lalang Community Hall, Pos Poi, and continued in the afternoon at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pos Piah, Sungai Siput.

During the visit, two SKSPS briefing sessions were held by the manager of the Kuala Kangsar PERKESO office.

The briefings aimed to ensure that the Orang Asli community in Kampung Pos Poi and Pos Piah understood the benefits provided under this scheme.
