GERIK: A 38-year-old man was arrested after committing criminal threats against his family members in Kampung Jagor and Kampung Padang here recently.
Gerik District Police Chief, Superintendent Zulkifli Mahmood, said they received reports regarding the incident before making the arrest.
According to him, the suspect went to his brother’s house in Kampung Jagor at 3:21 am.
The man then proceeded to break two solar lamps in front of the house.
“Upon reaching his brother’s house, the suspect tapped his parents on the back and said, ‘Mom, support whatever I do, Dad, support whatever I do,” he said.
This action was due to the suspect’s dissatisfaction with the distribution of his father’s assets.
As a result, the suspect damaged two solar lamps in front of his brother’s house.
According to Zulkifli, the suspect had previously returned home to his parents in Kampung Padang and had smashed household items.
This caused fear to his parents.
“Based on information, at 3:30 am, the police arrived at the scene and arrested the suspect.
“Investigations are being conducted under Section 427 and Section 506 of the Penal Code,” he said.
