Ipoh: Perak recorded 7.50 million domestic tourist visits in 2023, ranking fourth behind Selangor, Pahang, and Johor.
Pahang and Selangor took second and third places, with 8.54 million and 8.46 million tourists, respectively. Kedah followed in fifth place with 6.45 million visitors.
Johor emerged as the top destination, attracting 8.92 million tourists.
This Domestic Tourism Survey also indicates that tourism visits have met the targets projected by Perak State Tourism Executive Council Member, YB Loh Sze Yee.
In addition, the number of overnight visitors reached 17.1 million.
Meanwhile, international tourist statistics also showed a significant increase from January to December 2023/2022.
In 2023, the number of international tourists reached 867,665, compared to 333,306 in 2022.
