SIMPANG PULAI: Two foreign visitors were rescued by the fire brigade team after being found trapped inside the Sam Poh Tong Temple Cave today.
Assistant Director of Operations Division of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Perak, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, said they received a call regarding the incident from the victims at 2:26 pm.
He said the two victims, a man from China and a woman from Korea, were trapped because they stayed beyond the operating hours of the place.
“Both victims are in their 30s.
“Members of the Simpang Pulai Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene at 2:39 pm after the victims contacted the fire department.
“The victims were found inside the cave and were trapped because the main entrance to the cave was closed.
He further explained that the operation involving nine personnel, ended at 3 pm.
