IPOH: The Oyen and The Geng program successfully captured public attention when seven tents were allocated to showcase the antics of their cats.
This program was among the highlights featured at the 71st Ipoh Low Carbon Day (ILCD) held here on Sunday.
According to the Mayor of Ipoh, Datuk Rumaizi Baharin, this edition of ILCD highlighted the celebration of International Children’s Day as its theme.
“One of the notable features was the opening of seven tents showcasing adorable cats through the Oyen And The Geng program.
“In addition to the cat exhibition, participants were able to bring their cats for manicure and pedicure sessions.
“Visitors also had the opportunity to purchase or receive advice on cat care from the experts in the tents provided,” he said.
He added that this ILCD event was attended by more than 2,500 people and concluded at 10 AM.
“The implementation of this monthly event received very encouraging support from various segments of the community and all age groups.
“It also received cooperation from SK Cator Avenue National School with various activities organized to enrich the program’s schedule,” he said.
Among the activities organized were a 5-kilometer Cross Village Competition involving 700 participants aged 5 and above.
Additionally, there was an open coloring competition for ages 6 to 9 and a lucky draw event.
