IPOH: Police are investigating a bullying case involving a 13-year-old female student who was bullied by two senior students at a secondary school in the Kerian district.
Perak Chief of Police, Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri, said that on Monday, they discovered a 1 minute 21 second video showing a female student being bullied.
He stated that investigations revealed the incident occurred on June 14 around 10:30 am, where the victim was bullied by two 15-year-old female students at the same school.
“One of the suspects took the victim into the school toilet.
“Once there, the suspects, along with another student, repeatedly slapped the victim and recorded the incident on video.
“The incident is believed to have stemmed from jealousy on the part of the suspects towards the victim, who was reportedly close to their 15-year-old male friend, who was also attending the same secondary school,” he said in a statement here today.
Mohd Yusri stated that a police report was filed by the victim today and the case is classified under Section 323 of the Penal Code.
He added that the case is still under investigation.
Therefore, he urged the public not to engage in any speculation that could worsen the situation.
