IPOH: Less than a week after complaints were aired, the weeds and undergrowth covering signboards at the entrance to Taman Soon Choon via Jalan Gopeng have been cleared.
These signboards indicate directions to Bandar Cyber and Medan Lapangan Panorama.
Previously, the tall weeds obstructed the signboards and made it difficult for drivers to find directions.
The tall and overgrown weeds also indicated that the area had not been cleaned for a long time.
Grab driver, Muhammad Fauzi Ahmad Said, said clearing the overgrown area needs to be done periodically as weeds easily regrow.
“Thank you to the responsible party for taking action, and this effort should continue.
“It’s not just here, but many public areas in Ipoh have overgrown weeds that need clearing,” he said.
A trader known as Yien also wants the responsible authorities to maintain the drains there as they often fill with water during heavy rains.
She said this situation causes congestion and raises concerns about potential incidents if vehicles get stuck in flash floods.
