Firefighters Rescue Elderly Man Who Fainted While Hiking Bukit Batu Putih

GOPENG: Firefighters were called into action to rescue an elderly man who fainted while hiking Bukit Batu Putih on Sunday.

According to Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, Assistant Director of Operations at the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), the 72-year-old man was hiking with three friends when the incident occurred.

“We received an emergency call at 6:13 PM, and a team from the Gopeng Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) was immediately dispatched to the scene,” he said.

The man had fainted at the peak of Bukit Batu Putih during the hike with his friends.

“The fire team provided initial treatment to the victim and transported him down using a stretcher. He was then handed over to the Health Ministry (KKM) for further medical attention,” Sabarodzi reported last night.

The rescue operation, involving eight personnel, concluded at 8:23 PM.
