IPOH: Joining the firefighter auxiliary team is a commendable choice in efforts to assist in addressing personnel shortages in certain fire stations.
Those selected will receive training equivalent to that of a firefighter officer.
The general public’s interest in joining the firefighter auxiliary team was evident during the physical examination session for the selection interview of auxiliary firefighter officers Series 1/2024 of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) in Perak State.
The interviews took place over three days at the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station to fill vacancies in JBPM stations throughout Perak.
A total of 3,274 applications were received, of which only 1,073 were called for interviews.
However, only 303 candidates attended the interview sessions.
Throughout the interview sessions, candidates underwent health examinations before being required to undergo physical tests as a requirement to become auxiliary firefighters.
At the end of the interviews, only 107 candidates passed the physical test to proceed to the final selection process.
