2 seriously Injured, 2 injured as ambulance crashes into ditch

KAMUNTING: Two men were seriously injured and a woman was injured after the ambulance they were in crashed into a ditch on the Kamunting toll road near Taman Berkat early this morning.

According to Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Division Assistant Director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, another male victim was successfully rescued by the public.

He stated that they received a call about the incident at 3:30 AM.

Subsequently, personnel from the Kamunting Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were dispatched to the location.

The accident involved an ambulance that crashed into a ditch, with four victims inside.

“One male victim was rescued by the public, while the other three victims were extracted by the fire department.

“Three of the four victims were KKM staff members, while the other was a patient.

“The ambulance was from Parit Buntar and was on its way back from Taiping Hospital,” he said in a statement here today.

He added that all the victims were taken to Taiping Hospital by EMRS and Malaysian Ministry of Health vehicles for further action.

The operation, involving eight personnel, ended at 4:20 AM.
