TAIPING: The dinner celebration in commemoration of Taiping Heritage Town’s 150th anniversary, organized by the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Association, Taiping, was lively with approximately 700 guests in attendance.

Orang Besar Jajahan of Larut Matang and Selama, Datuk Seri Wan Mohd Isa Wan Mohd Razali, attended the event as the distinguished guest alongside the Minister of Digital , Gobind Singh.

Also present to enliven the occasion was the Perak State Executive Councillor for Environment and Green Technology, Teh Kok Lim.

The event also reunited many old friends among the attending guests.

In his speech, Gobind described the event as significant in celebrating the 150th anniversary of Taiping Heritage Town among the Sikh community in Taiping.

He expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the warm hospitality and reminisced about shared memories with local residents, many of whom have been part of his childhood.

“The Gurdwara Sahib Taiping has long been a center for education and community service.

“I hope that workshops or digital literacy classes can be organized at the gurdwara so that the public can learn about various new technologies.

“This could benefit their daily lives and business operations, such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, natural language processing models, and animation.

“May the Sikh community continue to play a significant role not only in Taiping but throughout the country, towards a prosperous Malaysia for all,” he added.
