IPOH: The Department of Mathematics, Science, and Computer at Politeknik Ungku Omar (PUO) conducted a workshop introducing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education to the students of Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran & Akademik BAKIP (MATAQAB).

The goal was to provide students with knowledge related to Arduino, sensors, and controllers.

These creative and innovative skills align with STEM needs in the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Sixteen students formed five groups, and two accompanying officers from MATAQAB participated in this programme.

The activities started with giving them the opportunity to learn how to build a line-following robot, beginning with Tinkercad circuit simulation.

Through Tinkercad circuit simulation, students learned how to make circuit connections and then create block coding.

After successfully creating the line-following robot simulation, they downloaded the code to an actual robot.

Students were also given the opportunity to test their respective line-following robots after the robot-building session.

The lecturers involved also benefited from the knowledge development and student management aspects.

Additionally, this programme helped foster collaboration between the local community and PUO members.
