IPOH: As planned, the Temporary Pasir Pinji Market has now begun operation, providing comfort to both traders and customers.
The temporary location, situated near Jalan Bunga Seroja and close to the TNB football field or Padang Kilat, is easily accessible.
Pasir Pinji State Assemblyman Goh See Hua stated that the temporary market has been operating since last Saturday, accommodating approximately 209 traders.
He mentioned that the opening ceremony was officiated by Ipoh Timor Member of Parliament Howard Lee and himself.
“In addition to market traders, food vendors selling breakfast to visitors are also stationed here.
“The temporary market location is spacious, easily accessible, and there are no issues with parking,” he said.
Previously, construction work on the temporary market began on September 5, 2023, involving an allocation of RM1.54 million.
Of that amount, the Ministry of Local Government Development (KPKT) provided RM1 million, with the remaining funded by the Ipoh City Council (MBI).
The old market site will be developed into the New Pasir Pinji Market, expected to commence soon and be completed within two years.
The Pasir Pinji Market, which is over 50 years old, is an old and dilapidated market.
Thus, the redevelopment of this public market will enhance the quality and standard of the market facilities and provide a more comfortable environment for traders and visitors.
