Madani Woodlands Recreational Park Benefits Residents; Offering More Comfortable Recreation

By Aida Aziz

IPOH: The first Madani Recreational Park located in Taman Woodlands, Bandar Baru Tambun, has proven to provide many benefits to local residents.

Previously, many people engaged in recreational activities at other locations, but now all the facilities are available here.

According to one of the park visitors, K. Arwin, he often comes here to jog and exercise.

“In the past, this area was just an open space without facilities like exercise areas and tracks.

“Now it is better, and in the evenings many children come to play and relax with their parents.

“It might be a good idea to add a restroom for the convenience of the public,” he said.

Meanwhile, Habeeba Mohamed Hamid said that she used to choose a park near Bercham for recreation.

“For more than six months, I have been coming here because the atmosphere is better and the facilities are good,” she said.

However, Habeeba hopes that the Ipoh City Council (MBI) or the relevant parties will monitor the cleanliness of the area more closely.

“If possible, MBI should cut the long grass here, as it looks unkempt and is a concern because there are bushes and many children playing,” she added.

Madani Recreational Park here is an upgraded open area with recreational facilities for leisure activities.

It covers an area of 2.8 acres and consists of an open square, children’s playground, multipurpose court, and running track to meet the needs of the residents.

Previously, the media reported that the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) allocated RM11 million to the state government to develop more Madani Recreational Parks in Perak.

Out of the RM11 million, RM6 million was allocated for upgrading old parks to Madani recreational parks, while RM5 million was for small projects under the Development Section 1 (BP1) in Perak.

The development of six Madani Recreational Park locations in Perak is currently in the procurement stage, while another six are in the site selection process.
