IPOH: It is unclear where the fault lies, as multiple complaints have been made to the local authorities, yet the condition of the drain in Taman Pengkalan Jaya, SPPK remains dire.

Several residents claim that no action has been taken to clean the grass and undergrowth, which has turned the drain into a forest.

This issue not only attracts vermin but also poses a risk of flash floods due to the blocked and overgrown drain.

Some residents want the State Assemblyman (ADUN) for the area, including the Council Members, to be more responsible and address this issue promptly.

“This issue of undergrowth in the drain has been ongoing for years. Are they waiting for a disaster to take action?

“Do they need to wait for public complaints before taking action? The Ipoh City Council (MBI) should have a regular schedule to clean this area,” said one of the residents.

Looking at the comments section regarding this issue on social media, many people agree, saying it is already worthy of being called a forest.

It is hoped that the relevant parties will take immediate action to clean the drain area to prevent any unwanted incidents.
