IPOH: The extraordinary congestion along the road from the front of the Ipoh Railway Station (KTM) heading to the Medan Kidd roundabout during peak hours often distresses road users.
The issue also causes congestion in the KTM area as many people drop off passengers who want to board the train at certain times.
Observations found that the situation becomes congested during the morning and evening.
One of the residents, Mohd Shazli Zulkifli, said the situation is worse if there are repair or upgrade works and barricades are placed on the road.
“Previously, there were barricades placed near the front road here for repair works, the road became narrower and more congested.
“Perhaps the authorities can do something to prevent this road from becoming severely congested, especially towards the Medan Kidd roundabout,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ridzuan said the congestion is not only affecting that area but also involves the road from the front of the Tun Razak Library near Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab.
“In addition to the congestion occurring on Jalan Kuala Kangsar, we are also facing the same problem here, maybe because more people are starting to live and settle in Ipoh city,” he said.
