Azizi Now Leads Perak Police

IPOH: The position of Perak Police Chief is now held by Police Commissioner Datuk Azizi Mat Aris, replacing Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri.

Mohd Yusri has been appointed as the Director of the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) in Bukit Aman after leading the Perak Police for nearly two years.

Azizi, 59, was previously the Deputy Chief of Perak Police since taking over the role in 2021.

He is a native of Kuala Kangsar and holds a Master’s degree in Strategic and Defense Studies from the University of Malaya.

He has also held several senior positions in the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

Among them are Chief Assistant Director of Management (Appointments) in Bukit Aman and Chief of the Management Department of Kedah Police.

Earlier, the rank insignia ceremony was officiated by the Director of Management Bukit Aman, Datuk Seri Azmi Abu Kassim at the Perak Senior Police Officers’ Mess.

Also held was the handover ceremony of the position of Deputy Chief of Perak Police from Azizi to the new appointee, Deputy Commissioner Zulkafli Sariaat.
