IPOH: For the first time, Ipoh will host the Malaysia-China Trade Exhibition at Stadium Indera Mulia from August 1 to 4, 2024.

The exhibition is organised by the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) Perak Branch in collaboration with the Ipoh City Council.

This is the largest international trade exhibition ever held in the city of Ipoh.

Entrepreneurs participating in this exhibition come from China, Thailand, and local businesses.

Ipoh Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin, said the exhibition will feature franchises, artificial intelligence, the digital economy, and a variety of consumer goods displays.

He mentioned that China is rapidly advancing in trade, economy, and smart technology, presenting an opportunity to expand trade flows.

“The main objective of organising this exhibition is to attract entrepreneurs and business groups from China to participate, invest, and establish businesses in our country.

“This aligns with the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme, which aims to attract foreign investors to stimulate the local economy,” he said at a press conference here.

Rumaizi explained that with digital technology at its core, economic activities have now become digital, networked, and smart through the internet, big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.

“This new economic model has transformed our lifestyle and production methods, significantly impacting global economic and social development.

“Data centres are being established worldwide, and our country is also actively introducing this technology sector with aspirations to become a major data centre hub in the future,” he added.

Also present was the President of MCCC Perak Branch, Lai Weng Keong.
