LENGGONG: Education is the most powerful tool in combating corruption, which poses a threat to the integrity and development of the nation.
According to the Director of the Community Education Division of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Nazli Rasyid Sulong, students, in particular, need to understand the dangers of corruption and become heroes in upholding the truth.
“Corruption is a threat that destroys integrity, stunts development, and tarnishes the nation’s reputation.
“The fight against corruption must begin at the grassroots level, especially among the younger generation.
“Education is the most powerful tool to combat corruption, and students should deeply understand the dangers of corruption and become brave heroes in upholding truth and justice,” he said.
He made these remarks after inaugurating the Anti-Corruption Heroes (WAR) Programme held here.
A total of 598 students from the MARA Junior Science College (MRSM) Lenggong participated in the programme.
MRSM Lenggong is the 28th MRSM in the WAR SPRM tour series.
The one-day programme is a joint initiative by MARA and the MACC to engage the younger generation in efforts to combat corruption from an early age.
It aligns with the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS) 2024-2028, launched by the Prime Minister on May 7, 2024.
The education sector is emphasised as one of the key strategies in combating corruption in Malaysia.
“I am optimistic that this programme will bring positive changes to the students and the community.
The Group Training Session (LDK) of the WAR MRSM Lenggong Programme urges students to become agents of change by ensuring that neither they nor those around them engage in corruption.
“Students are reminded to continue the fight against corruption and become true Anti-Corruption Heroes to create a future free from corruption,” he added.
