Sultan Nazrin Inaugurates Northern Region Malaysia Fire and Rescue Academy in Tronoh

IPOH: Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, officially inaugurated the Northern Region Malaysia Fire and Rescue Academy (ABPM) in Tronoh near here.

The academy building was completed in 2014 at a cost of RM40 million.

It has been operational with a staff strength of 50 officers, led by a commanding officer.

ABPM Northern Region has been established as a hub and center of excellence for water rescue training, utilizing existing mining facilities for rescue training.

This includes courses such as boat handling and advanced training for the special Water Rescue Team (PPDA).

Also present were the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim; the Raja Di Hilir of Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris Shah, and the Raja Puan Muda of Perak, Tuanku Soraya Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah.

The event was also attended by the Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, and the Minister of Housing and Local Government, Nga Kor Ming.
