LENGGONG: The proposal to build a temporary cabin as a Police Post to station officers will be implemented in Kampung Beng Dalam, Lenggong.

This follows the recent selection of Kampung Beng as a ‘Kampung Angkat Madani’ by the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN).

Gerik District Police Chief, Superintendent Zulkifli Mahmood, stated that this initiative aims to improve basic services such as village roads, water supply, electricity, and internet access.

According to him, the proposal for the Kampung Beng Police Post, which will involve the deployment of two officers, is one of the government’s initiatives.

“This ensures that the quality of services and safety in Kampung Beng and the surrounding villages can be enhanced.

“Especially in terms of safety and the growth of the tourism sector in line with Lenggong’s recognition as a National Geopark,” he said.

Zulkifli further explained that the long-term plan for the Kampung Beng Police Post is to upgrade it to a full-fledged police station on a five-acre site.

He added that the temporary cabin at the location is a stopgap measure until the construction of the permanent Police Post at Kampung Beng is completed.
