IPOH: A total of 15 roads around the city will be closed and diverted in stages to make way for the Ipoh International Run 2024 this Sunday, July 28.
According to Ipoh District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, the road closures and diversions will begin at 3 AM and continue until the programme concludes.
He stated that the event will take place at Stadium Indera Mulia Ipoh.
“The roads involved in the staged closures and diversions are Jalan Ghazali Jawi, Jalan Kamaruddin Isa, Jalan Ashman Shah, Jalan Raja Dihilir, Jalan RM Aziz, Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab, Jalan Dato’ Maharaja Lela, Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Jalan Sultan Yusof, Jalan Sultan Idris Shah, Persiaran Greenhill, Jalan Sultan Abdul Jalil, Jalan Chin Choon Sam, Jalan Cecil Rae, and Jalan Kompleks Sukan,” he said.
He added that the Ipoh District Police, through the District Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division, will be responsible for traffic control throughout the event.
Therefore, road users, especially Ipoh residents, are advised to plan their journeys and choose alternative routes to avoid being caught in traffic congestion during the road closures and diversions.
