IPOH: The government has allocated RM14 million for the construction of the new Pasir Pinji Market, set to replace the old market that has stood for over 50 years.
The new market will not only meet the daily needs of Pasir Pinji residents but will also be a significant catalyst for local economic development.
It will serve as a hub for economic and social activities, providing a more comfortable and beneficial space for all residents.
Housing and Local Government Minister, Ngar Kor Ming, expressed his appreciation for the support from all parties, including the local community, who contributed their efforts and ideas towards building this market.
“We hope this market will not just be a place for buying and selling but also a community space that strengthens harmony and unity among Pasir Pinji residents.
“The redevelopment of this market, which includes 213 business lots, will contribute to the socio-economic improvement and quality of life for the local community.
These business lots will prioritize existing licensees while also providing opportunities for new applicants to fill the business spaces,” he said.
He made these remarks while officiating the temporary Pasir Pinji Market.
At the same time, Kuee Arkitek has been appointed as the consultant for the new Pasir Pinji Market, and the design of the new Pasir Pinji Public Market has been finalized.
