BAGAN SERAI: Nor Kasih Hemodialysis Services Association is appealing for donations from corporations and the public to fund an additional 10 hemodialysis machines and other medical support equipment.

These resources are intended for use by underprivileged dialysis patients.

This entity, registered under the Societies Act and with the Malaysian Ministry of Health (KKM), operates a hemodialysis center.

Its chairman, Datuk Mohamed Nizam Abdullah, emphasized the critical need for these funds to support patients using the Nor Kasih dialysis center.

“Currently, we have eight dialysis machines in good working condition, but the remaining ones are outdated and urgently need replacement.

“This will enable our registered patients to avoid long wait times for dialysis according to their schedules.

“In addition to dialysis machines, we also require funds for poor patients who do not receive any sponsorship or only partial cost coverage,” he said.

Mohamed Nizam noted that some patients receive sponsorship of only RM100 to RM150, whereas the actual treatment cost exceeds RM200.

He added that about 80% of the patients are from impoverished backgrounds, encompassing various ethnic groups.

“Many receive partial sponsorship, but the remaining costs, including essential injections, must be borne by the patients.

“The issue is how these financially struggling patients can afford the monthly treatment costs they desperately need?” he said.

Therefore, he appeals to generous donors, including corporate entities, to contribute to the center to ease the burden on these needy patients.

Donations can be made via Maybank account number 558051347113 under the name Pertubuhan Perkhidmatan Hemodialisis Nor Kasih Larut Matang dan Selama Perak.
