IPOH: Several main roads in the city will be closed and diverted in stages to facilitate the Perak State Warrior’s Day Celebration on Wednesday.
According to Ipoh District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, four roads will be affected and will be closed and diverted from 7 a.m. until the event concludes.
“Road diversions on July 31 (Wednesday) will start at 7 a.m. until the end of the event at Dataran Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.
“The roads involved are Jalan Kuala Kangsar (near the Syariah Law Enforcement Division Office, Perak Islamic Religious Department), Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab (Perak State Secretariat), the RM Aziz junction (near the Syariah Law Enforcement Division Office, JAIPk), and Jalan St. John,” he said in a statement.
He added that road closures during the rehearsal will be implemented in stages and will depend on current needs.
Therefore, all road users, especially Ipoh residents, are advised to plan their journeys and choose alternative routes to avoid being caught in traffic congestion during the road closures and diversions.
