Cooking Oil Brand Sofea from Perak Entrepreneurs Enters the Market

IPOH: Another product from the state of Perak, the Sofea brand cooking oil, has officially launched, entering the market to meet consumer needs.

Manufactured by Kemasik Oil Sdn. Bhd. (Kemasik Oil), the product is produced at their factory in Sungai Siput (U) near Kuala Kangsar.

Sofea cooking oil is available in 1 kilogram (kg) packets and 1, 3, and 5kg bottles.

Kemasik Oil Director, Amirul Haizi Othman, stated that the Sofea brand is expected to be a consumer favorite due to its halal certification and factory cleanliness recognition by the authorities.

According to him, the company is currently focusing on the Perak domestic market, especially in retail stores and food premises.

“We are still new, so initially, we are actively promoting at farmers’ markets across Perak to introduce the Sofea brand to consumers.

“Face-to-face marketing is effective for new products and allows direct interaction with buyers.

“At the same time, the company has also established a partnership with the National Cooperative Movement of Malaysia (Angkasa) in Perak to expand marketing,” he said.

He was met after the launch of the Sofea brand cooking oil at the Travelodge Hotel here, which was officiated by the Chairman of the Perak State Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Committee, Datuk Salbiah Mohamed.

Kemasik Oil, established a year ago, has received a manufacturing license from the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).

The company has also received a grant of RM127,750 from SME Corp’s Bumiputera Enterprise Enhancement Program to purchase cooking oil bottling machines.
