IPOH: The Ipoh Echo community newspaper, the voice of this city’s residents, is returning to print this August.
Ipoh Echo had temporarily halted its print edition since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, it continued to reach readers through its website and social media platforms, garnering up to 1 million readers.
Not only does Ipoh Echo have readers in Perak, but its website and Facebook page also attract international readers from Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Rosli Mansor Ahmad Razali, Editor of Ipoh Echo, stated that the print edition will now be published quarterly.
He said the 16-page newspaper will maintain its existing content concept, featuring community news, local issues, social activities, local leaders, non-governmental organizations, and businesses.
“Throughout the suspension of our print edition, we consistently received inquiries from readers wanting the print version.
“Post-pandemic, the economic recovery is evident, with many businesses in Ipoh, particularly in the hospitality sector, resuming operations.
“Companies that previously advertised with us decided it was time to reconnect with our readers,” he explained.
Ipoh Echo will be distributed at locations such as hotels, private hospitals, selected restaurants and cafes, government offices, and other specific spots.
Those who miss reading a copy can also pick one up at 1, Lasam, Ipoh Echo’s HQ.
