IPOH: The mass media will continue to serve as a strategic partner to the Perak Police in assisting the authorities in enforcing the law.
This is particularly to convey information to the public accurately, truthfully, transparently, and reliably.
At the same time, the Perak Police will develop a new and improved strategy to ensure that media personnel can perform their roles effectively.
Perak Police Chief, Datuk Azizi Mat Aris, stated that media personnel have a significant responsibility to the community and he greatly appreciates their role.
In this regard, he said that the Perak Police will remain open and cooperate professionally.
“Media personnel, unlike the police, are not distinguished by rank or position, but possess high skills.
“As reporters, often unnoticed, the media are also unsung heroes, working tirelessly to deliver news.
“The media have enhanced the reputation of the Royal Malaysia Police, especially the Perak Police, by frequently highlighting the achievements of the security forces. I thank you for that,” he said.
Azizi made these remarks during a dialogue session with the Perak Police Chief at Hotel Excelsior last night.
Also present were the Deputy Chief of Perak Police, Deputy Commissioner Zulkafli Sariaat, department heads, district police chiefs, and other senior officers.
More than 50 media personnel from various agencies in Perak, including Ipoh Echo / Peraktastic, attended the event.
To further refine media tasks, Azizi said the Perak Police will ensure all levels, including district levels, play their part.
He added that two-way communication between media personnel and the police will help ensure that the information shared with the public is accurate and transparent.
