IPOH – Residents of Perak can now enjoy Ayam Pak Sheikh (APS) as the restaurant officially opened its first branch in Meru, Ipoh, today.

Irni Shatira, Operations Director & Chief Operating Officer, highlighted that APS is a local brand with an Islamic concept, founded by Syriq Ali Bajunid in 2014.

“APS started as a humble street stall selling ‘Ayam Gunting.’ In 2017, we expanded our offerings to include ‘Ayam Snack,’ featuring Drummet (chicken drumettes) and Midwing (middle part of chicken wings).

“The unique blend of spices in APS, marinated with our special recipe, caters to local tastes. The delicious, crispy, and spicy fried chicken highlights the quality of local ingredients, appealing to a wide audience.

“This product is a must-try to experience its distinctiveness, as captured by our tagline ‘makan tanpa sos’ (‘eat without sauce’), which reflects the deliciousness and uniqueness of Ayam Pak Sheikh,” she said during the press conference at the Grand Opening at Jalan Meru Bestari, Ipoh.

Originally known as Malaysian Street Fastfood, APS rebranded to Malaysian Fastfood Fried Chicken. The local brand has been established for over 10 years and now operates 12 branches across Peninsular Malaysia.

The new Meru branch is the second after Kuala Kangsar. Unlike the ‘mini branch’ in Kuala Kangsar, which offers a limited menu, the Meru branch provides the full range of APS products.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Datuk Mazlan Abdul Rahman, Chief WHIP of the Ipoh City Council, alongside Nor Aini Kadir, Managing Director of Alha World Enterprise.

During the event, 25 orphans from Pertubuhan Baitul Mubaroqah, Ampang, Ipoh, were presented with pocket money as part of the charitable initiative.

Other notable menu items include Nasi Sambal with three varieties of sambal: red, green, and black. Additionally, customers can enjoy Egg/Chicken Tortilla Sandwiches and Ayam Pak Sheikh Chicken Porridge.
