LUMUT: Over 1,000 people attended the launch of the National Month & Jalur Gemilang Flag-Waving Ceremony for Perak State 2024 at Dataran Putra, Bandar Lumut this morning.
The event was officiated by Dato’ Seri Ir. Mohamad Nizar Jamaluddin, Chairman of the State Committee for Infrastructure, Energy, Water, and Public Transport.
Choosing Lumut as the venue for the National Month & Jalur Gemilang Flag-Waving Ceremony for Perak State 2024 was fitting given its status as a tourism city.
Such events add value by boosting tourist arrivals to Lumut with major activities and celebrations.
The program featured various exciting events, including 6,700 Steps to Independence, Rahmah Sales, busker performances, coloring contests, and government agency exhibitions.
Special performances included the Malaysia Madani Jiwa Merdeka Show and a Silent Drill by the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM).
The highlight was the launch of the Jalur Gemilang Merdeka 2024 Convoy, which will travel through nine checkpoints, and eight pit stops, covering a distance of 700 kilometres.
