Construction of PERKESO Rehabilitation Center in Meru Raya Progressing Smoothly, Set to Operate in 2025

IPOH: The construction of the National Neuro-Robotic and Cybernics Rehabilitation Center by the Social Security Organization (PERKESO) in Meru Raya is progressing smoothly and is expected to be completed as scheduled.

The project is expected to be fully completed by May 1, 2025.

According to a post on PERKESO’s Facebook page, the Minister of Human Resources, Steven Sim Chee Keong, recently made an official working visit to the site.

Once completed, it will be the largest rehabilitation center in Southeast Asia, located in Bandar Meru Raya, Ipoh.

This rehabilitation center will be equipped with the latest robotic technology, including neuro-robotic and cybernics treatments from Japan.

The facilities and services will focus on holistic medical and vocational rehabilitation based on the concept of lifelong rehabilitation.

The opening of the PERKESO National Neuro-Robotic and Cybernics Rehabilitation Center will also offer 400 job opportunities.

The Neuro-Robotic and Cybernics Rehabilitation Center in Ipoh will be the second of its kind in the country, with a construction cost of RM654 million on a 15.57-hectare site.

The center will be able to accommodate 700 patients at a time and will act as a center of excellence for PERKESO’s Rehabilitation and Return to Work programs at the global level.
