The Salvation Army Ipoh Open Day Charity Sale

By KT Leong

The Salvation Army Ipoh Open Day Charity Sale will fall on 7th September at The Salvation Army Ipoh Children’s Home Care Centre, Jalan Raja Permaisuri Bainun from 9 am to 1 pm.

The chairperson of the Open Day, Major Lee Kong Yee said The Salvation Army Ipoh Annual Open Day is the annual fundraiser project to raise the needed funds for 4 centres in Ipoh, which includes the Ipoh Children’s Home, Ipoh Boys’ Home, and Perak Home for the Aged and Ipoh Community Service Centre.

“Currently we are looking after around 50 children and 30 elderly in our centres. We are also helping more than 10 families with monthly food parcels through our community service centre, and emergency relief in times of crisis and disaster.” he added.

“Our annual operation cost has gone into deficit due to the economic downturn for the past few years. We had our first Open Day last year after the pandemic and we wish to continue this tradition which we have been doing for decades. This annual fundraising event helps us to raise funds to support the operation cost of the centres, which include meals, education, medical, utility and more” he disclosed.

Lee said this annual event enables the community to get in touch with The Salvation Army Ipoh team, giving them a chance to help the underprivileged individuals and families together with us.

“We are grateful that many kind people always want to help, we provide them a chance to give back to the community.” Lee added.

Coupons for The Salvation Army Ipoh Charity Food Fair are now available, priced at RM100 per booklet. The Salvation Army Ipoh is targeting ticket sales at RM200,000.
