PARIT BUNTAR: Two men were arrested, 20 motorcycles were issued summonses, and three more were seized during the “Ops Samseng Jalanan” operation at Jalan Pantai Tanjung Piandang here on Sunday night.
Kerian District Police Chief, Superintendent Juna Yusoff, stated that the operation was carried out by the Traffic Enforcement Investigation Division of the Kerian District Police Headquarters (IPD).
He explained that the operation aimed to curb immoral activities frequently conducted at the location, especially during weekends.
“This activity has caused concern among residents, who reported the matter to the police out of fear for the safety of the community and road users in the area.
“During the operation, 50 motorcycles were inspected, and 20 were issued summonses for various offences.
“Additionally, three motorcycles were seized, and two men were arrested for further action as they were suspected of being involved in road bullying activities,” he said on Monday.
He further mentioned that the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and Section 64 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Superintendent Juna also encouraged the public to provide information to assist in combating these immoral activities.
