IPOH: A town hall session was held to discuss proposals for installing traffic lights and implementing one-way streets on Jalan Perajurit and surrounding areas in Taman Perak.

The session was attended by Ipoh City Council (MBI) Secretary Ahmad Munir Ishak, Canning State Assemblyman and Deputy Speaker of the Perak State Assembly Jenny Choy Tsi Jen, Ipoh Timor MP Howard Lee Chuan How, and MBI Senior Director of Technical Services A’zman Mohd Harun.

Approximately 40 residents participated in the town hall.

During the session, MBI outlined several initiatives, including the installation of traffic lights on Jalan Perajurit and the proposal to create one-way streets on Off Jalan Perajurit, parts of Lebuh 2, Lintasan Perajurit 6, and Persiaran Perajurit 6 in Taman Perak.

These proposals were made in response to complaints about accidents at the Jalan Perajurit intersection, difficulties for vehicles entering and exiting the residential area at this junction, and traffic congestion during peak hours.

Additionally, MBI received complaints about insufficient parking in nearby commercial areas.

The traffic management proposals aim to reduce accident rates and improve the comfort and safety of road users. An additional 50 parking spaces will also be created in the existing area.
