Quest International University (QIU) proudly hosted a dazzling “International Culture Night,” bringing together a vibrant combo of performances and cultural displays that celebrated the rich diversity within its international student community.

Themed “Discovering Unity in Diversity,” the recent event was a spectacular showcase of colour, music, dance, and fashion, exhibiting the students’ pride in their respective cultural legacies.

Organised by the university’s International Student Club, Student Life Division) and Jabatan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Negeri Perak (JKKN Perak), the night was filled with electrifying performances that took the audience on a journey around the world, featuring the beauty of cultural differences while emphasising the underlying unity that binds us all.

Shining in resplendent traditional costumes, the students glided across the stage in a variety of intricate choreographies, ranging from Indian, Sri Lankan, and Pakistani dances to a “Cultural Echoes of Africa” hip-hop dance performance. In between the dance showcases, the university’s Music Club brought the house down with a soulful musical interlude, blending traditional and contemporary sounds.

The expert performers from JKKN Perak then set the stage alight with a vibrant and colourful display of Malaysia’s multicultural heritage, Citra Malaysia. The night continued with a spectacular fashion show, where students from various countries showcased their traditional attire, symbolising the diversity and unity of the university’s global community.

Present at the event were QIU Vice-Chancellor Professor Zita Mohd Fahmi, JKKN Perak Director Abd Rashid bin Abdullah, QIU Registrar Muhammad MG Omar, and other university leaders.

“Since our inception, we’ve been honoured to welcome students from six continents, and we are incredibly proud of our students for coming together to celebrate the diversity that makes our university so unique,” said QIU Vice-Chancellor Professor Zita Mohd Fahmi.

“International Culture Night is more than just an event; it’s a reminder that despite our differences, we are united by our shared humanity. Thanks to the commitment from our students and our friends at JKKN Perak, this night truly embodied the spirit of unity in diversity, and we are thrilled to have witnessed such a beautiful representation of cultures from around the world.”

“We offer our students opportunities to learn beyond the classroom, fostering a deeper understanding of the world around them. Events like these help bridge gaps between cultures, promote tolerance, and inspire future leaders who are both culturally aware and globally-minded.”
