TAIPING: A woman was killed after being thrown from a four-wheel drive (4×4) vehicle she was travelling in with a male passenger at kilometre (km) 256.2 of the Southbound West Coast Expressway (WCE) in Trong on Tuesday.
According to Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Division Assistant Director, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, the vehicle veered off the road and overturned at the location.
He stated that they received a call regarding the incident at 11:30 a.m., and a team from the Trong Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) was immediately dispatched to the scene.
“The accident involved a Toyota Fortuner that lost control and overturned, with two victims inside.
“One of the victims, a woman, was ejected from the vehicle and was confirmed dead at the scene by the Malaysian Ministry of Health (KKM) personnel.
“The other victim, a man, survived with minor injuries,” he said on Tuesday.
He added that the operation commander then instructed the team to retrieve the victim’s body, which was handed over to the police.
Meanwhile, the injured victim received preliminary medical treatment.
The operation, led by PBK II Sayful Ezuan Ahmad, involved six personnel and concluded at noon.
