P Lab launched their Little Maker and Taste of Ipoh series last Saturday from the first floor of the Sehari building premises.
On the premise that Ipoh has much more to offer than simply being a stopover for food and that understanding the origins of a tourist product would enhance the experience and drive repeat business, the Little Maker and Taste of Ipoh series were developed.
Through these series, P Lab looks to facilitate holiday goers with local artisans and businesses, to create more meaningful visits to Ipoh. For instance, arranging crafting sessions with TJ Clay Studios and tours through organic farms. Such activities would have a greater impact than simply having a surface level sight seeing or food sampling session.
Understanding the history of something can improve the experience, for example, the weight of 180g for Moon Cakes is actually due to tradition, as Moon Cakes used to be sold by weight and 180g was one of the typical weights for the Cantonese variety.
