IPOH: The Ipoh City Council (MBI) has conducted 40 community clean-up activities as of July this year as part of its efforts to tackle pollution and clean up dirty areas.

During this period, 2,853 illegal dumping sites were identified, with 1,522 tons of waste cleared across 2,689 clean-up operations.

MBI also issued 862 compound notices amounting to RM222,900 for illegal waste disposal offences.

The initiative continued today with the Community Clean-Up Programme at the Waller Court Flats.

This clean-up programme aligns perfectly with the Merdeka Day celebrations as it helps strengthen community ties and interactions among residents.

At the same time, it fosters tolerance among them, while educating Ipoh residents on the importance of cleanliness.

Furthermore, residents of Ipoh, especially in the Waller Court Flats area, are encouraged to continue participating in community activities such as clean-up efforts.

Earlier, MBI City Councilor and WHIP Chief Wong Kar Keat officiated the event on behalf of the Mayor of Ipoh.

The event was also attended by Waller Court Residents’ Representative Committee Chairman, Chung Kok Heong.
