Husband and Wife Killed After Car Crashes Into Stone Wall

IPOH: A couple was killed after the car they were in reportedly lost control and crashed into a stone wall along the roadside near Jalan Kuala Kangsar on Friday night.

Ipoh District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, stated that the accident occurred at around 10:45 p.m.

Investigations revealed that the car was driven by a 52-year-old man, accompanied by three family members as passengers.

“The driver and the passengers, aged between 49 and 75, were travelling from Tasek towards Ipoh town.

“Upon reaching the crash site, the vehicle is believed to have lost control and collided with a wall on the left side of the road.

“As a result of the collision, two victims, the driver’s parents-in-law, were pronounced dead at the scene due to severe head injuries.

“Meanwhile, the driver and another passenger sustained serious injuries. The deceased were taken to Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun for post-mortem,” he said on Saturday.

Abang Zainal Abidin added that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He also urged any witnesses of the incident to contact Inspector Mohamad Faiz Abdul Khalim at 018-3728477 or report to the nearest police station to assist with the investigation.
