IPOH: A total of RM232,500 has been allocated for the Perak Student Book Voucher Assistance Program 2024, which will be distributed as a one-off aid to 1,550 eligible students.
Each recipient will receive a book voucher worth RM150.
This initiative, carried out through the Committee on Education and Higher Learning, is in collaboration with the Perak Children’s Aspirations Center (Pasak).
Menteri Besar Perak, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, stated that this is a strategic initiative by the Perak state government to ease the burden on targeted students in purchasing educational reading materials.
He also mentioned that the program aims to promote a reading culture among students, boost the local book industry, and alleviate the financial burden on parents.
“Therefore, I urge all students or parents who meet the specified criteria to seize this opportunity and apply through the official EHEYN website at https://eheyns.com.my, starting today.
“The state government remains committed to creating more targeted programs to provide the necessary support to ensure Perak’s children have access to quality education,” he said.
Eligibility criteria include being a Perak native pursuing full-time studies in their first year, with a household income below RM3,000 and experiencing urgent needs.
