TELUK INTAN: A wholesale company’s premises in Langkap was inspected after being suspected of storing cooking oil beyond the permitted quantity limit.
The operation, conducted at 11 a.m., was carried out by enforcement officers from the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Perak, Teluk Intan Branch.
This action followed a daily inspection of the wholesale company.
The inspection revealed that the quantity of stored cooking oil was estimated at 23,015 kilograms (kg), exceeding the storage limit set in the license, which is only 10,000 kg.
Following the discovery, the business owner acknowledged the declaration of the stock and the excess storage of cooking oil.
All cooking oil, with a seizure value of RM96,663.00, has been confiscated for further investigation and action.
The case is being investigated under the Supply Control Act 1961, which may result in a fine of up to RM1 million, imprisonment, or both.
For any corporate entity committing the same offense, a fine of up to RM2 million may be imposed if found guilty.
