By: Zaki Salleh

IPOH: The strategic partnership between industries and polytechnics was further solidified through the POLYCC Industrial Nexus Program 2024 (INDex POLYCC 2024) at Politeknik Ungku Omar (PUO).

This initiative is led by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) through the Department of Polytechnic and Community College Education (JPPKK).

The program serves as a strategic platform for KPT and JPPKK to directly engage with 20 members of the Polytechnic Industrial Advisory Council.

It aims to highlight the importance of strategic collaborations that enable lecturers and students from polytechnics and community colleges (POLYCC) to benefit from industry-driven programs, structured and up-to-date industrial training, and ultimately enhance graduate employability.

A total of 45 industry leaders received their appointment letters under the CEO@POLYCC program, followed by the signing of 15 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between JPPKK and industry players.

This close collaboration is expected to open more opportunities for curriculum development that align with industry needs.

Earlier, the program was officially launched by the Minister of Higher Education, Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir.

During the event, the Minister also visited the ‘Center of Technology in Marine Engineering’ (CTME) and the Yayasan TM Digital Lab.

Yayasan Telekom Malaysia presented a contribution worth RM3.5 million to JPPKK during the launch of TM TVET Madani @ POLYCC, reinforcing the synergy and collaboration between YTM and JPPKK in uplifting TVET institutions across Malaysia.
