KAMUNTING: Two people were seriously injured and two others were hurt in an incident involving a fallen tree on Jalan Kamunting, Taman Glenview, following continuous rain today.
The incident involved two vehicles, a Perodua Alza and a Yamaha motorcycle.
According to Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, Assistant Director of Operations at the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), the incident occurred around 12:53 PM.
He stated that firefighters from the Kamunting Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene at 1:15 PM.
“There were seven victims in total, two from the car suffered minor injuries and three were unharmed, while the two on the motorcycle were seriously injured and unconscious.
“All those in the car were women aged between 16 and 35.
“Meanwhile, a man in his 40s and a 15-year-old girl on the motorcycle are believed to be father and daughter,” he said here today.
As a result, the firefighters cut the branches of the tree that had fallen on the vehicles and provided initial treatment to the victims.
Afterward, all the victims were handed over to personnel from the Ministry of Health Malaysia for further treatment.
