IPOH: The strong relationship between the police and the community is continuously strengthened, including through awareness sessions on crime prevention.
Recently, the Commercial Crime Investigation Division of the Ipoh District Police Headquarters held a session for tenants, staff, and visitors at Ipoh Parade shopping center.
The session was led by Inspector Nur Faherda Akmar Zulkifli.
The program included explanations of types of online scams and the latest methods used in commercial crime.
Additionally, a Q&A session on commercial crime was conducted, along with the distribution of an e-book titled “Current Trends in Commercial Crime” via a QR code, and information on the National Scam Response Center (NRSC) hotline 997.
The main objective of this program is to raise awareness and provide tips on the latest online fraud trends directly to the community, which can then be shared with family and friends.
Meanwhile, a participant, Nurul Ain Nordin, expressed that such programs are very beneficial as they allow the community to learn about current developments in commercial crime.
“Through this sharing, we can hear directly from police officers about how scams occur.
“It is hoped that in the future, crime prevention programs like this will be held in shopping centers to allow public participation,” she stated.
