PANGKOR: More than 70 schoolchildren, who are also local residents, received free haircut services during a charitable program held here.
This program is a community service initiative aimed at assisting the local community, organized in collaboration with several sponsors.
This is the second time the event has been organized in collaboration with the Youth Council of Perak and the service center of the Pangkor State Assembly member.
Perak Youth Council member for N.52 DUN Pangkor, Syed Alif Rikiman Syed Alwi, stated that they plan to make this event an annual program.
He noted that the initiative aims to alleviate the burden on families and the targeted groups through free haircut services.
“This program was made possible with the cooperation of A&D Barbershop & Academy, involving about 20 trained barbers.
“The trained barbers provided their services free of charge, which we greatly appreciate and at the same time highlights the strong spirit of volunteerism among the youth in the Manjung district,” he said.
The free haircut program for the Pangkor community took place at the Dewan Arena Sungai Pinang, Pulau Pangkor.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Pangkor Assembly member Norhaslinda Zakaria.
As a token of appreciation, Norhaslinda presented certificates of appreciation to the sponsoring parties, including the Youth Council of Perak (N.52 Pangkor), Sham PA System, HASD Construction & Guesthouse, Mkvapor Shop, and Sitiawan Blood Brothers.
Certificates of appreciation were also presented to the 20 trainees from A&D Barbershop who participated in the charitable haircut program.
