IPOH: Classic motorcycle and two-wheeler enthusiasts should not miss the opportunity to attend the Fifth Malaysia 2024 Classic Military and Vintage Motorcycle Open Day this week.

The three-day event will begin this Friday at Murni Campsite, Gopeng.

This is the first time Perak has been chosen to host the event, following previous locations in Bagan Lalang Beach, Selangor (2018), Desaru, Johor (2019), Melaka (2022), and Batu Laut, Selangor (2023).

The Vintage & Classic Motorcycle Club of Malaysia (MVCM) has selected the Perak Classic Motorcycle Club (PBCMC) as the organizer for this year’s event.

MVCM stated that the event is open to fans and automotive lovers, particularly motorcycle enthusiasts, including classic bicycles and military antiques.

“The purpose of this event is to foster a spirit of patriotism and love for the country.

“Additionally, it aims to enhance knowledge and education for the younger generation about historical events.

“This event will also help boost tourism in Perak, as participants will be taken to historical sites,” they said.

It is reported that over 59 classic military motorcycles of various models and brands will be showcased at the exhibition.

Among them are BSA, Triumph, Norton, Royal Enfield, AJS, Matchless, Areal, James, WLA-Harley Davidson, BMW, Vespa, Honda, and many more.

Various models of classic military bicycles used during World War I and II will also be displayed, including Birmingham Small Arms (MKv Airborne), Sunbeam, Royal Enfield, Peugeot, Philips Tandem, Triumph, Norton, and Swiss Army Bicycle.

Also on display will be a personal collection of various military tools and equipment from World War II.
